Otto & Victoria, Time Traveling in Style…

This is not a book cover…

One of the challenges of being based in the Great White North is that ordering things from south of the border can be disproportionately expensive. Thank goodness for a friend of the library – actually, our Head Alien’s sibling – who can act as a shipping destination, and can then send one larger and cheaper package northward when enough stuff accumulates.

So it was that we here at the Butterflies & Aliens Library didn’t get our hands on this acquisition until just this past week, over half a year after its Kickstarter campaign was finally completed.

But my goodness was it worth it.

Introducing Brian Kesinger’s Time Traveling With Your Octopus, the third full book in his Otto & Victoria series that began with Walking Your Octopus followed by Traveling With Your Octopus, along with activity books Coloring With Your Octopus and Dressing Your Octopus.

Now with a limited edition collector’s box to house most of your collection!

And as a bonus, we’ll even sneak this in under the #SmallPressSaturday umbrella and give a shout out to Baby Tattoo, the art publishing house that partnered with Brian to bring this book to life.

The gorgeous new collector’s box, opened to reveal the cover of the latest installment of the adventures of Otto & Victoria…

I first discovered Brian’s artwork through his “Tea Girls” series, then again when his Star Wars / Calvin and Hobbes mashup cartoons started circulating on social media. So when I stumbled across Walking Your Octopus in my local bookstore and saw the name of the artist, I was an immediate fan.

Since then not only have we managed to collect copies of all of the Otto & Victoria books, but also Brian’s published Sketchbooks, Volumes 1 and 2, as well.

Then when Brian announced a Kickstarter to fund this third installment, it was again an immediate reaction to sign on.

The box even comes with a certificate of authenticity…

The whole Otto & Victoria collection!

I love Brian’s work for its colour and energy and personality, something that extends beyond just the books to the book adjacent items too… the box, available Otto & Victoria pins, and puzzle, to name just a few.

Be sure to go check out Brian’s website at briankesinger.com for the latest on his projects and to order books for your own collection!

Happy Reading!
