Happy Saturday!

It’s been another tough week in Canada and the prairies are ramping up for an unprecedented heat wave. So, I thought featuring a fabulous prairie press would be apropos.

I’m thrilled to share with you Great Plains Publications, based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Their mandate is to publish the best books from the Prairies and recognize that the Canadian Prairie provinces are home to incredible talent. They only publish 8-10 titles per year and put focus and dedication to work on each of their titles. Personally, I appreciate any press that gives voice to the Canadian Prairies and the exceptionally talented and diverse authors that reside here.

Great Plains Publications has three imprints. Under their Great Plains umbrella they publish non-fiction specializing in prairie history and biography. Under their Enfield & Wizenty imprint they publish novels and short story collections. And under their Yellow Dog imprint they publish contemporary and historical fiction for Middle Grade and Young Adult.

Their books have won numerous awards and you check out their comprehensive list on their website.

So, while you are hiding from the heat this week, maybe you will take a spin through the Great Plains website and check out some of their titles. You might find your next great summer read and discover your new favourite Prairie author.

Happy Reading! And stay safe and cool out there <3
