Canadian Children’s Book Week 2021

This week is Canadian Children’s Book Week, celebrating Canadian children’s authors, illustrators, and storytellers! A program of the Canadian Children’s Book Centre (CCBC), Canadian Children’s Book Week 2021 features virtual readings and other events all across Canada.

This year’s theme is Readers Take Flight/Tournée lire à tout vent, which “celebrates the way stories can make the impossible possible.” The beautiful poster was created by artist and children’s book illustrator Phillippe Béha and is available to download for free online.

For our part, the Butterflies & Aliens Library will be featuring Canadian children’s books from our own collection all week. Do check back as we share some of our favourites!
